Dr. Melissa DeVincentis is a board certified behavior analyst- doctoral level (BCBA-D) and licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida. She recently received her behavior specialist license in Pennsylvania and is a licensed behavior analyst in New York. She has over eight years of experience working with children, adolescents, couples, and families. She is a Level I, Level II, and Level II Gottman trained couples therapist. She is also trained in Emotional Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). She has consulted both nationally and internationally on supporting professionals working with children with autism and other behavioral disorders in a variety of settings using evidence based practices.
Dr. DeVincentis works with individuals, couples, and families with the goal to alleviate problems with communication, relationship/marriage difficulties, anger outbursts, family stressors, grief, depression, anxiety, parenting and various relational, behavioral, and mental obstacles.
Dr. DeVincentis provides individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, and consultation in home and in the school to promote systems collaboration and communication.
Dr. DeVincentis has presented at both national and international conferences and has consulted nationally in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and New York. She has conducted research on solution-focused couples therapy, parent training, behavior modification procedures, joint attention, and reunification. Dr. DeVincentis currently is an adjunct professor teaching three to four courses each semester in counseling studies and behavior analysis. She is also certified in professional crisis management (Practitioner I).
